When Fudge That Sugar went on hiatus in March, I had every intention of returning to it soon. But as my life has gone through very big changes and the break got longer and longer, the more I realized that I just don’t have the time or, more importantly, the energy to come back to the comic. Not right now, anyway.

So, Fudge That Sugar is over. I might return to it someday, or it may come back in a very different form, but for now, it’s done. I’ll still be updating Twice Shy on a weekly basis, and I’ll still be embarrassing myself on Twitter regularly.

Thanks to everyone who read the comic on a regular basis; Fudge That Sugar was an awesome experience for me, and it’s because you guys thought I wasn’t terrible. Thanks for that. The octopus and I will miss you all very much.

Happy International Women’s day! I made it in just under the wire.

This comic was inspired by an awesome Twitter conversation I had with @annetdonahue and @_unicorntears_ today. We remembered our years of saying, “Oh, but I don’t like those extreme feminists” and “I think men and women should be equal but I wouldn’t call myself a feminist.”

“Feminist” isn’t a bad word. Accept it, already! It’s an awesome thing!

Happy 100th comic, everybody! I am incredibly, incredibly surprised and thrilled that I made it this far. It seems like only yesterday I was scrambling to come up with comic ideas with which to start Fudge That Sugar; if you had told me that I’d make it to 100, I’m not sure I would have believed you. (If you then explained that most of the comics weren’t very good, I’d have found that a lot more credible.)

To my readers who have been there from the start and those I’ve picked up along the way, thank you for reading!

I’m still feeling crappy and sick, but luckily, not too sick to make a comic! I also put up a new Twice Shy comic today about my adventures in the drug store. My life is a non-stop dignity party.

And people ask me, “Why don’t you dress up more?” Because I would have to deal with conversations like this for far too long before people finally got used to it. Also, I’m lazy.
